bleached my hair on accurate

I have seen a couple of posts on this sub about bleaching hair while on accutane. google advises against it, but I did it and it went just fine! no weird colors, no burning, and a normal amount of breakage. just wanted to make this post in case anyone else is having anxiety about this like I was! my scalp has been extremely dry and itchy since starting accutane (60mg started 3 weeks ago). i’ve had tons of dandruff, and i’ve been able to go a full week without washing. so I was really nervous about having my hair highlighted. (like, will my scalp be on fire and all my hair break off?!) to offset my concerns, i had my hair dresser not take the bleach all the way to the scalp so to avoid any adverse effects / burning on my scalp. I also had her do a deep condition treatment afterwards. hair came out perfect, as usual. all this to say, we need to do what still makes us feel pretty during a time when we may not feel that way (I have been purging horribly). i’m so happy I did it, my self esteem has been lifted already. 😊
