ATC Adjudication Stage

So February 2025 will officially make a year since I got my TOL and started my security clearance process. I knew this process would take its time, but the amount of job opportunities/promotions that I have turned down or ignored due to me not wanting to make long-term commitments is starting to weigh on me.

Sometime around August 2024, I had requested an update on my status, and that’s the first time when I heard that I was in the adjudication stage due to them having to do a “full investigation” on my clearance. Recently I had asked for another status update, and they told me the same thing as before.

Has anyone gone through this, and what was the overall result? Am I wrong for turning down job opportunities in the meantime? Should I lose hope in this career path?

It absolutely sucks because it’s what I went to school for… Got double bachelors in aviation admin and airport management with a CTI in ATC. It’s my dream to be a controller, but I’m slowly losing hope.
